RUST PREVENTIVE PAINT
| |
The following rust preventive paint is used as a base coast before any refinishing on all of the
undercarriage, suspension, and bare metal surfaces before any finish or top coat is applied. Greg
Donahue uses this exclusively on all his Show Winning Restorations and has found this is the only
paint product that does seem to stop rust completely.
POR-15 (RUST PREVENTIVE PAINT)
POR-15 is a rust preventive paint designed for application directly on rusted or seasoned metal
surfaces. It can be brushed on or used with spray equipment. It dries to a rock-hard, non-porous
finish that won't chip, crack, or peel and it prevents rust from re-occurring by protecting metal from
further exposure to moisture. This product can actually be painted directly over a rusted area and it
will stop any further rust from happening. POR-15 is sensitive to light (sunlight) and must be
topcoated for prolonged exposure to sunlight. Topcoating not required for areas not exposed to
sunlight, such as, suspension and undercarriage.
This product comes in both Black and Clear. It is sold in 1 Quart Cans.
POR-15B BLACK $42 Quart
POR-15C CLEAR $342 Quart
METAL-READY RUST REMOVER AND PREPRIMER
Metal-Ready is a special water-based liquid formulation that is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-caustic,
and non-corrosive.
Metal-Ready performs the following tasks:
Removes rust by dissolving it. Metal is left clean and ready to paint.
Etches metal to provide a better surface profile for painting.
Coats the metal with zinc phosphate to inhibit further rusting and promote better paint adhesion.
Improves welding conductivity.
Metal-Ready must be used first before using POR-15 when you are painting on a galvanized metal,
aluminum, stainless steel or on a smooth, polished or new metal surface.
MR-1 20 oz. Spray Bottle $14.95 Bottle
POR-15 SOLVENT
This is the only Solvent that you can use for clean-up after using POR-15. It is the only cleaning fluid
that will remove POR-15 from spray equipment or brushes before it dries.
POR-S $12 Quart
