ALUMINUM TRIM REANODIZING SERVICE

This is a service we offer for repair and reanodizing of your aluminum mouldings and trim. When your aluminum trim turns milky or discolored, no amount of polishing will bring the luster back. What has happened is that moisture has gotten between the anodizing and the aluminum surface of the moulding. This causes the moulding to get a milky, discolored, or hazy finish. The only way to correct this problem is to have the original anodizing chemically stripped off, the moulding repaired and polished, and then have the anodizing and sealer coat re-applied.

This service is not done on an exchange basis which means we only repair and reanodize your parts. For the best results, send the best pieces that you have to be reanodized. We can do repair and reanodizing on some damaged mouldings but the area that is damaged must be accessible from the back side of the moulding. We cannot repair any damage that is behind a double roll where we cannot get to the back side of the moulding behind the damage. Scratches and minor dings can usually be repaired to the point where they are no longer visible. We cannot repair any screw holes, cracked or torn aluminum trim. For the average 85 point car most aluminum trim with minor damage can be re-used. Most often from 5 feet away this type of reanodized trim will look almost like NOS. If you are doing a 100 point restoration, then the trim that you start with must be in excellent condition throughout. If any of the trim had a painted surface, we refinish these as part of the reanodizing process.

All of our reanodizing work is done on a time and material basis. Please check with us before sending any trim so that we can discuss with you the procedures and cost. Turnaround time is usually 60 to 75 days.
